IP5280’s 6th Annual Climbing for Kids climber registration closes tomorrow!

The event supports The Kempe Foundation and Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation.

6 a.m. at Mount Bierstadt
After party at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Lawrence French and Gregory Sargowicki with a BBQ provided by Lifestyles Catering

Individual Registration: $50
Student: $20 (age 19 and under)

The climb will raise funds for both of the children’s foundations through sponsorships, participant registration and donations.  The teams have raised more than $45,000 so far!  We still need your help to reach our goal!

Climber registration closes midday on Wednesday, August 10, so please register early!  You can still support the Climb by making donations to individuals or teams after registration closes until October 1.

IP5280’s Climbing for Kids event is open to climbers of all ages and abilities, including first time climbers, children and dogs on leashes.  Last year, more than 220 climbers participated in the event, raising nearly $60,000 for the two organizations.


  1. I’m interested in this event, but would be a first-time climber and can’t seem to find any information about the actual climb other than directions to meet at 6 a.m. Is there more information somewhere online about how the climb is structured, how long it takes, how challenging it is, if support is provided during the climb, what to bring, etc? Any further info would be appreciated!
