The Children’s Hospital’s construction of its new East Tower prompted a quick move of the Kempe playground to a space along the northeast corner of The Gary Pavilion. Six staff members from the Southlands Sam’s Club donated their time this morning to help reconstruct the playground. The volunteers painted, helped level the ground, and put in the sod around the new playground area. The inside walls will feature children’s artwork and will also have all of the same equipment as the old playground including the basketball court. The new playground is slated to open to the children on Monday.
