A friend of mine sent me this video and the message is so powerful, yet so easily dismissed. Our social surroundings have a tendency to shape the path on which we travel based on predisposing factors such as economic status, academic achievements, health standards, family, friends, and overall adherence to societal expectations.
This video features several examples of revolutionary individuals who exhibit resilience to social assumptions of perpetual failure, and rather rely on their innate ability to transform and adapt with the given circumstances. What each of these individuals have in common is their conscious decision of shifting focus off of the seemingly unattainable end result, and onto embracing the journey as an opportunity.
Throughout life we subconsciously choose between internalizing apparent disadvantages and suffering in the face of adversity, or forcing ourselves to realize the meaning behind our compassion to rise above.
The true question to ask yourself as you watch this clip is, what do you do when life gives YOU lemons?
