PlatteForum’s ArtLab Students Present the “Word Are Power” Mural at Kempe

Last night, the student artists who created the “Words Are Power” mural from PlatteForum’s ArtLab visited Kempe and presented their experiences creating the mural to students from The Kempe Center and The Kempe Foundation. 

The Cultural Competence Committee received a University of Colorado Denver Diversity and Excellence grant. Dr. Evelin Gomez, Kim Pierpoint and Sharon Schonhaut were instrumental in bringing together the project, “Promoting Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect from our Community Youth through Artistic Expression.”
